Rules

1. 1Each team must use a 1-litre PET soft-drink bottle for the water rocket.
2. 2Each team will be given two attempts.
3. 3Only approved materials may be used.
4. 4The rocket must be completely student built.
5. 5The rocket must pass safety inspection before launch.
6. 6The organisers will specify permitted pressure, water quantity, launcher, and launch procedure.
7. 7Participants must remain behind the designated safety boundary.
8. 8No participant may approach the launch area until it is declared safe.
9. 9Modifications after inspection require approval.
10. 10Damaged or unsafe rockets may not be launched.
11. 11All pressurisation and launch instructions must be followed.
12. 12Unsafe launch behaviour will result in immediate disqualification.
13. 13Judging: each participant/team will be given 2 attempts; distance (maximum horizontal distance achieved); accuracy (ability to land close to the designated target). The team that achieves the maximum distance will be declared the winner.
